At APES Demolitions, we offer one size: the 15-yard dumpster. We chose this size deliberately — it's the most versatile container for residential renovations, bathroom and kitchen remodels, garage cleanouts, and light commercial work. It fits in most driveways, handles the majority of projects homeowners and contractors tackle, and doesn't require a commercial-grade truck to deliver. Here's everything you need to know about what you're getting.
Physical Dimensions
Dimensions are approximate and may vary slightly. The 4-ft wall height makes it easy to toss debris in without needing a ladder.
What Does "15 Yards" Actually Mean?
The "15 yards" refers to 15 cubic yards of volume — not the length of the container. One cubic yard is a cube that's 3 feet wide × 3 feet tall × 3 feet deep. So 15 cubic yards is 15 of those cubes stacked together.
To put that in perspective: 15 cubic yards is roughly equivalent to 4.5 pickup truck loads of debris. For a bathroom remodel, that's more than enough. For a full kitchen gut-out, it handles everything comfortably. For a whole-house cleanout, you may need two loads.
Weight Capacity: 1.25 Tons Included
The base price includes up to 1.25 tons (2,500 lbs) of debris. For most renovation projects — drywall, wood, flooring, cabinets, furniture — you'll stay well within this limit. The weight limit becomes relevant when you're loading dense materials like concrete, brick, or ceramic tile.
Heavy materials tip:
A single cubic yard of concrete weighs approximately 4,000 lbs — already over our included weight limit. If your project involves significant concrete or masonry demolition, call us first at (484) 657-9230 and we'll discuss the best approach.
What Fits in a 15-Yard Dumpster?
Here's a practical breakdown of common projects and whether a single 15-yard dumpster handles them:
Will It Fit in My Driveway?
Our 15-yard dumpster is approximately 14 feet long and 8 feet wide. Most standard single-car driveways (typically 9–10 feet wide) can accommodate it with a few inches to spare on each side. A double-wide driveway has plenty of room.
- Minimum driveway width needed: 9 feet
- Minimum driveway length needed: 16 feet (to allow truck access for delivery)
- Overhead clearance needed: 18 feet (for truck and dumpster combined during delivery)
- Street placement is available if your driveway is too narrow — permit may be required
Not sure if it'll fit? Send us a photo of your driveway or describe the space when you call — we'll let you know before we show up.
The Swing Door: Your Best Friend for Loading
Our 15-yard dumpsters have a rear swing door that opens fully, giving you a ground-level entry point for walking debris straight in. This is especially useful for heavy items like tile, concrete blocks, and appliances that would be dangerous or impossible to lift over the 4-foot side wall. Always use the swing door for heavy loads — your back will thank you.
